IPL (Indian Premier League) 2014 Season to be held in South Africa speculates the BCCI. This is due to the fact that Home Ministry, has declined to provide security for the IPL, since the Loksabha elections are due soon. A similar situation happened in 2009, and at that time South Africa was the venue for IPL.
The BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, the IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal had a meeting with Sushilkumar Shinde (minister of home affairs) recently. Mr.Shinde has informed that they would require the local police and an additional 1.2 Lakh Central forces for the upcoming election. Since the election would get over only by mid of may this year, the BCCI doesnt want to postpone the the IPL till then.
The IPL is speculated to happen between 9th of April and 3rd of June 2014
